A Wintry Night in November - Updating at Last

So, I've been trying to post for weeks now. . . but I don't like coming up with things to say. Especially when I read other people's blogs. They're interesting, deep, eloquent, long . . . things my posts could never hope to be. I have resigned myself to that for now, because otherwise I won't get anywhere with this. I can work on all that later, once I've gotten used to writing things that are actually being read. At this point, I'm just pretending you aren't there. However, please feel free to disprove that by leaving comments :)

Moving on to my usual life update:

I've been married for about four and a half months. I can't believe it's been that long already. The summer flew by and now the fall semester is more than half over.

I have a baby - a nine month old Border Collie named Cinnamon. She's wonderful and sweet and likes to drive me insane by barking at 6 am. I hope I don't have kids anytime soon :)

I'm currently working full time (or as close to that as I can manage).

I'm taking one class at PCC - Jewelry making. It's really fun. So far I've made a Venetian mask pin out of aluminum, a silver pin in the Hopi style, and carved a ring out of wax. I'll be casting that on Thursday.

In about a week and a half Michael and I will be going to Florida to visit his family for Thanksgiving. PCC only gives us two days off, but we're taking a week. That should be very fun.

A new thing I'm interested in doing professionally - editing. However, I have yet to figure out how to get into this field. I've looked into publishing degrees, but there aren't that many of them. I could probably get a degree in early childhood education and still be an editor, if I had the skills and could get the job.

I actually have two things I'm currently editing for people. But it's slow going, as I'm super busy and not getting paid :P   No, I'm quite enjoying it.

Hmmm. . . maybe I can write long posts. I better stop before I get too random. I'm starting to nod off, and who knows what might come from my fingertips if I fall asleep . . .

Finals

This week may turn me into a coffee addict yet.

I'm such a terrible blogger

So I'll write you another list of some of the things that have happened since the last time I wrote I:

- Turned 19
- Decided to major in Sociology
- Was accepted to Cal State Northridge
- Decided not to go
- Got engaged
- Returned to PCC
- Think I'd rather major in Anthropology or Religious Studies
- Started babysitting regularly
- Decided I want to try being a nanny . . . maybe next semester

I'm really looking forward to the end of the semester, but have 5 papers to write before then. And I have no idea what I'll be doing to complete my college education . . . I really wish I didn't have to. ~

“Misquotation is, in fact, the pride and privilege of the learned. A widely-read man never quotes accurately, for the rather obvious reason that he has read too widely.”

- Hesketh Pearson
